Everything Happens For A Reason

Sometimes people come into your life
and you know right away,
that they were meant to be there...
to serve some sort of purpose,
teach you a lesson
or help you figure out who you are
or who you want to become.
You never know
who these people may be
but when you lock eyes with them,
you know that very moment that
they will affect your life in some profound way.
And sometimes things happen to you
at the time that may seem horrible,
painful and unfair,
but in reflection, you realize
that without overcoming those obstacles,
you would have never realized your
potential, strength, will power, or heart.
Everything happens for a reason.
Nothing happens by chance
or by means of good luck.
Illness, injury, love,
lost moments of true greatness
and sheer stupidity, all occur
to test the limits of your soul.
Without these small tests,
life would be like a smoothly paved,
straight, flat road to nowhere.
Safe and comfortable
but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet affect your life.
The successes and downfalls
that you experience,
can create who you are
and the bad experiences,
can be learned from.
In fact,
they are probably the most
poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you,
betrays you or breaks your heart,
forgive them
because they have helped you learn
about trust and the importance of being cautious
to whom you open your heart to.
If someone loves you,
love them back unconditionally,
not only because they love you,
but because they are teaching you to love,
and open your heart and eyes to little things.
Make every day count.
Appreciate every moment,
and take from it, everything that you possibly can,

I find myself saying this phrase repeatedly over my lifetime. To my friends, family, classmates, clients. It's funny because on most occasions, they think I am being sarcastic, but genuinely I whole hearted-ly want for them to be content, and happy with decisions they make.
It's funny because some people sometimes call me Selfish. I know there are times I can be selfish, but I have to. It seems as if I do not look out for myself or my best interest, No one else will.

I sacrifice a lot for the people that I love. Even if in the end it means giving up my happiness. I try to offer everyone what I have plus some. I let down my wall and love and give to my fullest potential! And for some reason it always comes back to slap me in the face.

But, You live and you learn. I figure God will somehow bless me eventually.
God works in mysterious ways.
But as the bible says...
"When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom"
Proverbs 11:2

So I'm hoping as I go through these trials and tribulations of my life I will only become wiser!

BUSY AS A BEE

Busy does not even describe my life right now. Cosmetology school this semester is a lot more of theory less practical hands on work! which in turn means more studying! I believe people look down on cosmetologist, but what people don't know is we have to take chemistry and anatomy, physiology, we have to learn diseases and disorders! This semester is definitely INTENSE!
Along with that I have been trying to plan my daughters 1st birthday! It crept upon me, I didn't realize how fast MAY would be here. So I have also been doing that.

So for my fellow youtube followers, thats why it has been a while since I made a video. But I promise promise new videos coming soon! My latest video was for the makeupbyrenren contest

I didn't win, but its okay. You win some you lose some. For me its all for fun and for the love of makeup! But I forgot to mention I did win for BOWENSMA's contest! I got 2nd place. I will be sure to post the video soon of my prizes!
So this weekend or Sunday I will be attending the makeup show in LA for the day! Im going to fly in in the morning and come back at night! So hopefully I will have a pretty cool haul and update for you all when i get back!

A NiCE QUiCK UPDATE

Ive been extremely busy with school, and all of the things in life like my daughter, running errands and things like that.. But attached are my two recent youtube videos! A COSMETOLOGiSTS DREAM

So I am back from one of the most amazing tradeshows I have ever been in my life. A bunch of my classmates, and teachers attended the ISSE 2009 show in Long Beach, CA. The weather was amazing, the classes were educational, the platform artist were awesome, and the shopping was unbelievable! I bought tons, and tons of makeup for dirt cheap! I purchased books, and all this great stuff! I got to see Tabitha from the show on bravo, and also other people who were on shear genius. I was able to network, adhere new techniques, refresh on old ones, and see all the new products that will be launching! I learned new lingo from Marcel Munoz, i got to see creative updos for brides by Marcel Munoz as well. At the Farouk platform, makers of Chi and Biosilk I got to see there amazing color applications, and see the different ways to use there tools! A good tip I learned this weekend is that your hands do the art, and not to rely solely on your curling irons, flat irons etc. It was a great learning experience, I really enjoyed and I am totally glad I went. Here are some photos from over the weekend so you can all get an idea of what a COSMOS dream looks like..it was definitely MAKEUP heaven for me.

SMOKEY EYE TUTORIAL

Since posting my video on youtube a few days ago, I have actually got subscribers! Exciting!
And I have also had a makeup request from one of my subscribers as well. ENLFernandez requested a smokey look. I know there are millions and trillions tutorials and ways and different colors to use on a smokey look. But, when I think of smokey this is how I portray it in my mind, and how I go about applying it on myself. Here's my video.. It is my first tutorial (live) so please be patient with me! BACK TO SCHOOL..

So, back to reality, once again it is school time. Time to go back to the life where I barely have time to breathe. Luckily, i am going to school for something I have passion and heart for. Cosmetology. Living, breathing, learning and applying it to my life. Hair, makeup, skincare the art of it all I have it 24 hours a week in a school setting ! And if you know me, it is a part of my life every single minute of my day! I also start regular school on March 2nd that's the school I dread, but I need to get this bachelors degree as soon as possible!
I will be now taking clients at cosmo school every thursday and saturday! Please contact me if you would like to come in for a cut or color! And we can definitely schedule accordingly.

INAUGURATION 2009

What an amazing day in the history of the United States! The Inauguration of Barack Obama as our president. I can finally relate to the song " Proud to be an American"! We have come so far.
He truly is an amazing man. There were millions of people in Washington to witness such an eventful time in all of our lives.
Beyonce shed a few tears on how he has changed her life, and how he has made such an impact on the world already. She was talking about how he makes her want to be involved. And honestly, this is the first inauguration I have ever really cared to watch, and I am so glad I did.
I love our new president! I know he has big plans for our country, and I have no doubt in my mind that he will achieve the goals to make this a better place.
With that said..." Obama.Obama.Obama. A milli. A milli. A milli"

So i thought Sprinkles was cupcake heaven! But man was I wrong! That takes the Cake cupcakes on Union street are freakin amazing! Words can not even describe the tastiness of these things! They make my mouth water! So today i tried 3 different cupcakes. I tried the lemon drop, the samoa and the prom queen! So, I always find myself on you tube until the wee hours of the morning watching makeup tutorials. While i'm watching 'm learning new tips and tricks and in the back of my head I'm always thinking I want to make one! But, for some reason I just never had the balls to do it because I don't think i'm fun enough! Haha anyways one of the girls who does tutorials eyexluvxmakeup is having a contest! And for the first time ever I think I am going to stop being shy and enter! The theme of her contest is 80's, and since I am an 80's baby and have went to numerous 80's parties I might just do okay since I am slightly familiar with it! HAPPY 2009!

Another year has come and gone! It seems as if there is not enough hours in the day to do what needs to be done! Last year this time I was pregnant anticipating the arrival of my daughter and here she is now 8 months old, 2 teeth, growing and learning faster than I could ever imagine. This past Christmas had to be the best Christmas ever, not only did my Mom surprise me with a car for Christmas but I received a Canon Digital SLR from Jay, so that I can capture every memorable moment in my daughters life! Soo exciting.

One more week until Cosmo school starts up again! I can't wait to see everyone. I miss my classmates! When i go back to school I am literally there for a week and then it is time prepare myself for the biggest hair show in the west coast! The ISSE show in long beach, it's going to be amazing. So many techniques to learn and goodies to buy it is definitely going to be a wonderful experience !
